About Walter Schnecker

I did not set out to become a sales coach. I backed into it the same way I back into everything. I solved a problem for myself and then realized other people had the same one.

In 1990 I was running the US subsidiary of a German precision instrumentation company called Datron. When I started, the operation was doing $70,000 a year. I grew it to $4.5 million. Then I built a second division from zero to $3.5 million. I did that by sitting across from prospects and selling. Not by reading about it. Not by attending seminars. By doing it. Every week. For over 20 years.

I learned what happens when you walk into a meeting without a plan. I learned what happens when the prospect drives the conversation. I learned what "I need to think about it" actually means, and how to know the difference between Tuesday and never. I learned all of it the hard way, in the chair, with real money on the table.

Along the way, I started teaching photography. Over 2,000 students in 20 years. I watched smart, capable adults shut down the moment they felt confused or embarrassed. They were not failing to learn. Their brains were detecting judgement and shutting down the learning process.

That observation sent me into the research.

Kahneman on cognitive load. Haidt on the elephant and rider. Damasio on how emotion drives decisions. Porges on the nervous system's threat response. The brain makes every important decision before the conscious mind knows there is a decision to make. I studied it at Johns Hopkins, the APA, and Wharton. I became a certified hypnotherapist. I wrote two books on it.

Then I looked back at 20 years of selling and saw the same pattern.

Business owners who know their product cold walk into meetings and improvise. They let the prospect drive. They follow up on dead deals because hope is the only forecasting tool they have. They have tried coaches who asked great questions but never built them anything. Three of my recent consulting clients had exactly that story. Good coaches. No tools. Nothing changed.

I built Sales Ninja Coaching because those business owners do not need another framework from a book. They need someone who will build them a custom sales map, hand them the tools, adjust those tools every week based on what actually happened, and train them to use every one of them in a live meeting.

That is what I do.

It starts with a conversation. If I can help, I'll say so. If I can't, I'll say that too.
